John Feight
Biographical Sketch
With the help of thousands of volunteers, John Feight has taken
art to a new level…to a place where it can be of human value…in
an environment that should give comfort and hope. He is an
artist who is determined to take art to the people…to people who
need art the most…those who suffer in hospitals and nursing
homes.
John was born in Ohio in 1940. His youth was spent in Killbuck, Ohio, and Sarasota, Florida. After graduating from the University of Florida in 1963 with a degree in advertising, he spent 20 years in the advertising/marketing profession in New York and Atlanta before committing his energies to painting full-time for hospitals in 1984. His work was inspired by his grandfather, a country doctor in Ohio, who never put limits on his dream to help people.
John is founder of The Foundation for Hospital Art, Inc (1984). The Foundation's mission is to give comfort and hope to patients, families, medical staffs, and visitors by providing artwork to hospitals and nursing homes. The Foundation's vision is to make hospitals our most beautiful places for healing around the world.
With help from over 500,000 volunteers, over 35,000 paintings have been completed for over 2,000 hospitals and nursing homes in 195 countries.
