PaintFests - Ongoing Programs

Operation Lovejoy-Volunteer Information

Every Saturday since 1993, community volunteers join forces with the men in The Atlanta Union Mission's Carpenter's House homelessness rehabilitation program to create paintings for 172 VA Hospitals and hospitals around the globe. Come paint with us!

Important Notes For Volunteers:

  • The paintfest times are 9 a.m.- 11 a.m. every Saturday.
  • Children must be at least 13 years old to enter the building.
  • No shorts allowed.
  • A $5 per person donation is suggested to help cover the cost of art supplies. Please send checks, payable to The Foundation for Hospital Art, to: 120 Stonemist Court, Roswell, GA 30076.
    No cash is accepted at Operation Lovejoy. Thank you!
  • Due to limited space, GROUPS of more than 5 people must call the Foundation for Hospital Art in advance to reserve a date: 770-645-1717 Please mail the $5 per person donation in advance of your reserved date. Thank you!

Directions from North of the Perimeter:
Take I-75 to Moores Mill Exit (#254). Turn right (west) onto Moores Mill. Go 1.7 miles to the third light (Bolton Road), turn right. You will cross railroad tracks and then come to a stop light at Marietta Blvd. Cross Marietta Blvd. and go approximately 1/4 mile. The Carpenter's House is on the left (yellow, brick building).

Directions from South of the Perimeter:
